Symmetry and Interference. Björn Gärdestad.

There is an inner paradox in Ivan Irkov’s work, shown in his exhibition Symmetry and Interference, where the works give an opposing impression of constancy, confidence and orderliness. In his optical painting Björn conveys the very essence of wave vibrations, the oscillations of a pendulum, and the continuous movement of atoms as opposed to a stop equal to death. Stability is frozen and motionless, while wave vibration is a constant pulsation of life.

Within the framework of the exhibition, the variability of Ivan Björn's paintings is evident, including the Friquensis series and Mosaic Differentials, which trace his two research interests in image construction.
